Winter
The Arly Valley, dominated by the nearby Mont Blanc, has a special micro-climate: no mist, plenty of snow of good quality and a maximum sunshine.
Skiing and snowboarding
A few km from the chalet one can find the lift to the Espace Diamant (www.espacediamant.com) with 185 km of slopes and 40 chair-lifts, well known for the breathtaking views on the Mont Blanc. There are 84 lifts to 32 green, 58 blue, 47 red and 9 black pistes. In the area you find the villages Flumet, Crest-Voland / Cohennoz, Notre Dame de Bellecombe, Praz sur Arly and Les Saisies.
The skiing area is for all levels, although there are not so many very challenging ‘black’ slopes. The lifts are well maintained. The trees and old wooden chalets make the area extra attractive. There are several restaurants along the pistes.
You can decide to go for the smaller skiing area of the Espace Val d’Arly with Flumet, Notre Dame de Bellecombe, Crest-Volant / Cohennoz and Praz sur Arly: 120 km piste met 26 green, 37 blue, 33 red and 4 black pistes. For many that is enough!
The ski school (ESF) for private of group lessons is on the piste in Flumet.
Megève with 450 km of slopes is 10 km away.
The skiing season lasts from half December to half April.
